Miniature Train 2.3.1a

Linkage Peg
I used a total of 4 Linkage Pegs on my train and they were used to hold the Linkage Arm to the Wheel

There were a total of 2 Linkage Arms on the train and they were used to turn both the wheels with only one being powered.
Hitch Peg
The Hitch Peg was used to hold the Hitch Magnet onto the Body of the train, and thier were a total of one of these on the train.

TED Challenge

We visited the TED sight and explored if for a while to see what was going on and do a project on it.
                                                      http://www.ted.com/

1) What is the TED organization about?
The TED organization is about spreading good ideas and knowledge to anyone.

2) What is the purpose of their website and how does the functionality of their site support that?

The TED website is the vehicle that they use to spread their videos on a huge scale. Their sight supports that by allowing people free access to thousands of videos on a wide range of subjects.

3) As Engineers and Problem Solvers, which topic areas (the choices from the "Show talks related to:" section on the sidebar) are of most interest to us? Justify your answer.

The topic titled technology would be the most interesting to us because when the technology changes or becomes more advanced or a new thing comes out it could dramatically change the way we engineer. For example if a new way to make structures stable came out and it turned out that circles were much more stable than triangles then whenever you were making say the role cage for a car it would be based on circles rather than triangles or anything else.

4) Based on your previous answer, what are 3 talks (videos) on the site that appear like they would be of most interest to you as an Engineer/Problem Solver? Justify your choices.
Vijay Kumar: Robots that fly ... and cooperate     http://www.ted.com/talks/vijay_kumar_robots_that_fly_and_cooperate.html
Blaise Aguera y Arcas demos Photosynth
http://www.ted.com/talks/blaise_aguera_y_arcas_demos_photosynth.html
Dennis Hong: My seven species of robot
http://www.ted.com/talks/dennis_hong_my_seven_species_of_robot.html

5) Each student will watch a unique video (clear your choice with me... first come, first served!). Watch the video. Embed the video in your blog post and create a bulletized outline of the key issues presented in the talk.

-The smaller the device is the more agile it will be in the end
-With different sensors the devise will be able to calculate and plann its own path
-There are lots of different aplications that can be used with these devises like building carying things and exploring an unknown area remotly
-With more reserch and desigh they can become a verry usfull tool in our wourld.
6) How could you get involved in the field/technology/issue you chose to hear about? What experience/skills/training/education would you need to learn to get involved with this field?

I could go to school and learn about roboticks and physiscs and then continue on to collage and enter the program that is conducting theis reserch and try to help out with it.
